Acclaimed for his ironic interpretation of traditional forms, it is this sensibility that has projected Graves to a star among designers, as can be seen in his many designs for Alessi that clearly depict a “new Americana.” The 9097 Sugar Bowl with Spoon as designed by Michael Graves (1988) is a beautiful classic piece that features many different finish/color options and is made from 18/10 stainless steel and polyamide for the handles and black lid knob. It can have a mirror-polished finish with blue or white handles, or you may choose for it to have a pale gold colored finish, achieved by a silicone resin coating, with white handles. It blends especially well with many coffee makers, cups, and sugar bowls also designed by Michael Graves for Alessi.
