"Wood" is only pressed sawdust. I know this because "Wood" shelving top piece arrived cracked in two. Wood and plastic components are only glued together, but only with spots of glue here and there. So all molding, and the plastic (not wood) rails that prevent the laptop from sliding off the table are mostly unattached. Could pry it off with a fingernail. Molding around edges is already half detached [...]. Buy at your own considerable risk.

I'm very pleased with this item. It holds my 18" laptop with a little room to spare and being able to adjust the mouse desk space to a different height is nice. Can tilt for comfort. Fits well under couch and chair, but not quite high enough to use in bed (oh, well!). Love the way I can move it around as needed. Easy to assemble and it fit together well.It's doing what I hoped and appears as if it will last for awhile. It's not really pretty, but it works!

This is actually deeper than advertised. The top may be 18" deep, but the base is 21.5" and so doesn't fit into the under cabinet space that we bought it for. I'll probably unload it on Craig's list now that I've found one that will fit.
