this umbrella is sturdy and easy to use. (cant say as much for the stand I bought to go with it however, the umbrella is great). it gives good shade and some protection from light rain. The color is deep and vibrant. So far, it's been colorfast even with the sun beating down on it most of the summer.

Had a problem with the lift cord - when cranked up to the full open position, cord broke from too much tension - I would suggest putting some kind of limiter on the collar to eliminate this.

OK for shade, but don't use for even overnight dew. The fabric never gets taut, and water collects in the valleys and folds, dropping in your lap when you least expect it.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was delayed for an unacceptably long time. The final straw was the claim that the umbrella had shipped, when it had not. It was finally given to UPS a full week after the initial claim. UPS delivered it in two days.
I will not be back.

We use it on our deck at a condo. The 9-foot diameter provides great shade as well as privacy when it's tilted. The taupe color doesn't show dirt and matches our patio furniture perfectly.
