Comments about Coolaroo 10' Cantilever Aluminum Patio Umbrella:
I am using this umbrella to replace a tent-like canopy on my patio and I love how it looks when open. Thankfully, however, when setting it up there was someone to help me support it--I had no idea it couldn't even stand up AT ALL without heavy weights on the base. Now I'm using 4 16" pavers, each weighing 39 lbs. to stabilize the stand & so far, so good! My suggestion is to make sure you have the four pavers needed, anywhere from 16" to 20", BEFORE you set the umbrella up and you'll be just fine! It really is attractive and cools the patio nicely.

Comments about Coolaroo 10' Cantilever Aluminum Patio Umbrella:
We use this on our deck over a table. It works nicely and protects us from the sun nicely for picnics. It has withstood very high winds in the folded position. I don't think it could handle much more than 75mph winds without falling over but can handle 50 mph winds.

Comments about Coolaroo 10' Cantilever Aluminum Patio Umbrella:
This umbrella does a wonderful job of shading my deck area. The tilt function makes it easy to adjust the umbrella's shade as the sun moves across the sky. The only down side is that it difficult to move it across the deck if necessary. Anchoring with concrete patio pavers is essential.

Comments about Coolaroo 10' Cantilever Aluminum Patio Umbrella:
The sunshade is used on my deck and we get some very high winds on this hill.
It is lightweight and occupies a very small area of the deck (a good thing).
A worthwhile purchase.
Service and delivery comments:
Product arrived with scratches on it. Box was slightly tore up.
Definitely needs the 4 large concrete "blocks?" to hold it down, without those, it will fall over.
Product looks great; is lightweight and covers a large area.

Comments about Coolaroo 10' Cantilever Aluminum Patio Umbrella:
Appreciated the 'picture' of tiles used to brace the cantilever umbrella. I went out and bought 4 @ 18x18 pavers, and with absolutely no concern with the wind toppling, had the umbrella up and running right away.

Comments about Coolaroo 10' Cantilever Aluminum Patio Umbrella:
Even after weighting down each leg of the base with heavy bricks and plantpots, this thing fell over and tore in the first two days on a normal Florida afternoon (and continues to fall over and push away the weights!) The canopy sways and creaks way too much and the very time I need this open to shade my hellish back door/patio area(on a hot Florida summer afternoon), is the very time when I have to fold it right up, because of our sudden afternoon storms. I have to keep my eye on it constantly and dare not go out with it open, in case a storm blows by while I'm out. I would never recommend this for Florida, but it may be great in California! I wish I had spent more money on a proper canopy.

Comments about Coolaroo 10' Cantilever Aluminum Patio Umbrella:
This is a good shade solution for areas that cannot accommodate a pole in the middle of things--frees up the line of vision across dining tables and hovers nicely over conversation areas (height affords great headroom). We purchased 2 and are happy with them. The base requires heavy paver tiles from your local home improvement store to keep the stand from tipping over. The paver weight makes repositioning very inconvenient. Another reviewer mentioned building a box on casters to accommodate the stand and pavers--even so, it would be a heavy item to roll around--so I recommend it for areas that can be shaded by stationary a umbrella.
