It is used to highlight a plant in the foyer next to a bench. The light is perfect size, works well and excellent apperance. Will buy another.

WHICH HAS A GRECIAN URN LAMP ON IT. IT GIVES A LOVELY SILOUETTE WHILE SHOWING OFF MY PICTURES.

It's a decorative way to uplight works of art, statuary, paintings, etc. --- for the price, the updated stainless-steel decorative look is an AWESOME DEAL. but it doesn't come with a special bulb required (so it isn't as "plug-and-play" as most people would like)...
If you're looking for SMALL concealable spot lighting (for smaller table sculptures) this is NOT the item for you. it's just a little too big... the dimension says 5", but the stand makes it appear LARGER in real life. You won't be disappointed otherwise.
