You don’t have to know Swedish to see that tulipa means tulips. Tulips and other flowers, especially those that announce the regeneration of the earth in spring, are frequent motifs in traditional Swedish folk art (which Tulipa suggests), and contemporary design. Our Tulipa collection is sassy hand-painted blue, white, black, red and yellow tulips on white or black, hand-made cystal bowls, vases, dishes and candleholders. Our Tulipa Grande pieces feature giant blue tulips. Tulipa is sensational to collect and give.

DESIGNER ULRICA HYDMAN-VALLIEN
Ulrica Hydman-Vallien is foremost a designer in glass, but one look at her portfolio reveals her passion for painting with oils and watercolors, a love for ceramics, a spiritual union with nature. She paints in a variety of techniques, her signature style saturated colors painted resolutely and boldly onto the surface of the glass as though it were a three-dimensional canvas. Stockholm native Ulrica was brought up in an artistic family (with a mother who was also her mentor), and was schooled at the National College of Art, Craft and Design, as well as scholarship programs in the U.S. and Mexico. She joined the company in 1972 and has been awarded major scholarships and prizes, exhibited in museums and shows worldwide, and has lectured at the Bildwerk in Germany and at the famous Pilchuck Glass Center school in Washington state.
