Lloyd Flanders:

In 1906 Marshall B. Lloyd founded the Lloyd Manufacturing Co. The company quickly became famous for its wicker baby buggies and children's wicker furniture. By the early 1920's. Marshal B. Lloyd revolutionized the wicker industry with his Lloyd Loom, a weaving machine that could do the work of 30 men. The Heywood-Wakefield Company purchased Lloyd Manufacturing in 1921. With the introduction of more wicker furniture lines, the popularity Lloyd Loom wicker rapidly increased throughout the US and Canada.
After World War II, the Menominee plant, branched out into other areas of furniture manufacturing, and produced only a small amount of wicker furniture. Lloyd/Flanders began producing wicker furniture from the Lloyd Looms in January, 1983.
In 1985, Lloyd/Flanders introduced the first all-weather wicker furniture to the casual furniture industry with its Heirloom line. As the category of all-weather wicker grew, Lloyd/Flanders maintained its category leadership and expanded its furniture offerings to include the new synthetic hand made wicker products being manufactured off shore. Innovation has been the hallmark of Lloyd/Flanders in its role as the leading manufacturer of all-weather wicker. Lloyd/Flanders continues today to be one of the major manufacturers in the casual furniture industry.
