sturdy wooden construction, but I wish it had a larger lower compartment so I could more easily fit in my DVD player, cable box, and/or tivo (and not have to make choices). Also, if you get a larger size stand, it seems the top portion gets bigger to accommodate the larger tv, but the base does not get much bigger, which can make the whole stand seem less stable with potential of rocking tv side to side. I do think this is the best of what's out there, though, and I would generally recommend it.

Well made TV stand/swivel. This was a great solution for holding my heavy CRT television and DVD player. It looks nice and is made of high quality wood (very heavy). The assembly instructions are poorly written. [...] It took me about an hour to get it fully assembled. Overall, this is a great, well-made item. I am very happy I purchased it.

Overall impression: great construction, quality solid hardwood (no pdf), easy assembly and fantastic price.
This unit was exactly what I was looking for. My home has an open layout whereby the kitchen, living room and dining area are in one large room with many windows. So, it was important that the tv stand I purchased have two features: low profile (does not obstruct windows or view) and a swivel base (can be turned for viewing in any area in room). I didn't think I would be able to find anything. So, when I came across this unit for this price, I was very pleasantly surprised. The construction is top notch, and putting it together was so simple. The black finish looks fantastic against my black marble fireplace.
